CHANGES MADE BY HB142 AND HB143
DO NOT GO INTO EFFECT UNTIL JANUARY 1, 2014.
Request Public Records
All requests for public records should be submitted directly to the Commission in writing (via our online form, at the bottom of this page) and should identify the records requested by name of filer, date of filing, type of record and/or case number.
Commission staff will respond to each written record request in a prompt manner and will inform the requester of the estimated cost and probable turnaround time for producing the requested records. In the event that an request is made for Commission documents that are not required to be disclosed pursuant to the Open Records Act, the Commission will respond in writing and provide the specific legal authority exempting the records from disclosure.
The state charges $0.10 per page of copied records. In addition, a processing fee for staff time spent in research and retrieval of requested records over 15 minutes shall be applied. There is no charge for the first 15 minutes of staff time. Should the requester ask that the Commission mail the records to him/her, postage costs will be included in the invoice.
Payment for the requested documents is requested by the Commission before the records will be produced. Payment for record requests can be made via money order or check (personal or company) made out to the Campaign Finance Commission. We do not have the capability to accept payment by credit card at this time.
To expedite processing of checks, please write “Record Request” on the memo line of the check and include a printout of your invoice and original request in the mailing envelope.
