Which State Employees have filing responsibilities under the Act?

A few categories of State Employees are required to file reports with the Commission, according to the Georgia Government Transparency and Campaign Finance Act.

It should be noted that this is not a comprehensive listing of ALL employee disclsoure responsibilities under Georgia law and additional information may be found with your agency human resource section or the Office of the Attorney General.

• Executive heads of state agencies, whether elected or appointed, must file Personal Financial Disclosure Forms ^[1] each year that they hold office
• Executive Directors and members of state boards, commissions and authorities must file the Affidavit of a Public Officer ^[2]each year that they hold office
• Any public official or employee who transacts business with the state or any state agency (whether for him/herself, on behalf of any business, or any business in which such he/she or any family member has a substantial interest) must file State Business Transaction Reports ^[3] to disclose such transactions.
• State employees who qualify as lobbyists and conduct lobbying activities before the General Assembly must register as State Level lobbyists and file reports according to the schedule set out for State Level lobbyists ^[4]. Even though these individuals work for State Agencies, they are NOT State Agency level lobbyists unless they actually lobby before a State Agency
