On August 17, 2010 the Ethics Commission heard a matter involving contribution limits with respect to campaign to campaign contributions pursuant to O.C.G.A. § 21-5-33(b)(1)(B). The Commission engaged in a discussion regarding whether certain changes should be made to the Ethics Commission Rule 189-5-.01 (campaign to campaign contributions may not exceed contribution limits), however the Commission made no decision on the Rule at the meeting and instead asked the staff to make a recommendation. Pending the staff recommendation, the Commission reiterates that Rule 189-5-.01 remains in force and that campaign to campaign contributions are subject to contribution limits and all other restrictions of the Ethics in Government Act.
